Gratitude: Time

Time is precious…for when it is gone, it’s gone for good. How lucky are we to have not only the time we have had leading up to this very moment, but all of the time that is yet to follow?

Time has a way of showing us what truly matters. And that constant reminder of having a limited gift, makes the things that matter to us most, matter just a bit more. I would rather have a short and phenomenal experience, than to never have had it at all.

I often times feel like my life is slipping away. Things become a little less imaginative and a bit more realistic. I feel like I’m not as free, as the duties and obligations that come with being an adult slowly begin to pile up. I feel like I’m spending more time doing things that I ‘have’ to do as opposed to things I would ‘like’ to do. Because that is just life. We spend it doing things that we don’t necessarily want to do.

But then there’s this whole element of not wanting to waste time. And then things start to get tricky, you see?! We’re all stuck in a pickle of not wanting to waste any more time, but spending our time by doing the things we feel obligated to do. And so life suddenly gets more complicated.

So how do you want to spend the rest of your time? I want to spend my time doing only the things I am utterly passionate about. I don’t want to do things just to do them…I want to do things because I truly want to do them. I want to fill my time with memories and experiences.
