D.C. Adventures and New Blogger Babe Friends

SHOP THIS LOOK:

Hello, hello! I was so fortunate to be able to travel to Washington D.C. this week. I absolutely love getting to travel, and it's even better when it's to visit family. I had so much fun getting to hang out with my sister, niece, brother in law, and my aunt & uncle! We went shopping, swimming, and even hit a musical at Ford's Theater where President Lincoln was assassinated. It's pretty crazy to be able to do that! Quite an unforgettable experience if you ask me.

While I was in D.C., I also got the opportunity to meet an amazing blogger as well! Her name is Jacqueline, and she runs The Modalista.  If you're a traveling blogger, I recommend reaching out to different bloggers before you head out to the place you're going to. It's an awesome opportunity to meet new friends and collaborate with other creatives. I absolutely loved getting to grab a coffee with Miss Jacqueline and chat with her about something we are both so passionate about. I got the opportunity to interview her about her work, so be sure to check out her interview below!

When did you start your blog?

I started my blog 2.5 years ago!

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I draw my inspiration from Pinterest, other bloggers I look up to, and when I'm out and about in the city! The people, the buildings  it all inspires me. I usually get inspired when I go to blogger events, listen to inspirational talks, or when I am alone blogging I usually brainstorm ideas and get super inspired!

What has been the biggest struggle you've come across while blogging?

Balancing it all! I work part-time, go to school full-time, try to workout 5-6x a week, and trying to have my social life! Balancing it all and blogging can be stressful and being consistent with blog posts can be hard at times. But I have learned that shooting and working on my blog on the weekends works best!

What is your favorite part about blogging?

Literally every part about it is fun to me! It's super creative and it is your OWN platform/website and you can do whatever you want on it. My favorite part about blogging is the amazing people I have met and the relationships I have created. Meeting new people through events, collaborating with brands and other bloggers is always inspiring and fun! Don't get me wrong I've had times where I'm frustrated because shooting multiple looks in couple of hours is a STRUGGLE or my camera dies, super late nights finishing up a post and so on, but at the end of the day it is all worth it! It's a break from school, work, and everything else in life.

What are your favorite things to share with your readers?

I love sharing with my readers my #ootd's, how to style a certain piece, beauty, and fitness such as workouts and where I shop for my gym clothes!

Any tips for beginning bloggers?

Be consistent with posting each week!

Have good quality photos! We are in an era where everyone has a blog or wants to start a blog. You want to stand out and make your blog look professional and be taken serious, so having great quality photos is very important especially if you want to attract a certain audience or brands.

Don't stress too much about the number of your followers, remember that it's about the engagement!

Don't try to copy anyone, use others as inspiration, but always do it your own way and most importantly have fun with it!
