Gratitude: Art
Art is captivating. How does it say what we simply cannot? The thing that I love most about art is that it’s not just about pretty things. It’s about the underlying messages. Our minds and bodies hold the ability to create some incredible things that have the power to transform others. What are we to believe in? What are we to think?
Art is just kind of a jumble of everything. You can interpret it however you like, and that alone can tell you a lot about a person. It’ll tell you how they perceive things. It will show you how their mind works. And it will reveal the things on the forefront of their minds.
But beyond this, art is tremendously therapeutic. You don’t have to be good at art in order to create something you’re proud of. There’s no right or wrong and you can make whatever you downright please.
One of my favorite things to do is take a canvas, sit on the ground, and create something–whether it’s outside, in my room or in the living room. I turn on my Spotify playlist and just go from there. Painting and drawing with Sharpies all day. Timing each brush stroke to the melodic rhythm of the music. Nothing can beat that.
