There were 5 amazing designers there:

Claire has as unique way with the fashion world. Her designs are considered ‘functional luxury.’ During her pitch, she discussed how one time she was walking in NYC and her heel got caught in a grate. She had to stop so that she could release her heel. Later on when she founded Claire Flowers, she found an innovative way to prevent heels from getting caught in grates on the way to and from work. Her insoles are made with memory foam, and she also has a rubber stop on the bottom of the heels to prevent sliding. I’m thinking I need a pair….

Congratulations to Claire Flower for winning the People’s Choice Award!

Beltshazzar Jewels is an exquisite assortment of handmade jewelry and leather accessories by Theresa Wangia. Her designs are so bold! I love how they make a statement when you walk into the room. Her style is where culture meets fashion.

Rafael believes that everyone is different, and our bags should be too. At Rafael Adón it starts with your story and begins with their stitch.

“Story & Stitch is a face-to-face human-centered methodology at the heart of our bespoke services. It is part story-telling methodology and part art and design. Story & Stitch guides us to uncover your lifestyle characteristics and the qualities you desire in a handbag and then build it. We then design and build a luxury bag that’s made-to-measure just for you.”

Fauxgerty

Founded in 2013 by designer Chrissy Fogerty, Fauxgerty is a collection of cruelty-free threads with an emphasis on recycled elements and local, ethical production in STL, LA and NY. They are committed to their cruelty-free mission. Turning hide into leather wastes energy and water, uses chemicals to unnaturally halt decomposition, and is harmful for both animals and humans.

You will see recycled polyester in their faux suede, upcycled plastic bottles in their lining, and recycled or reusable products in packaging and marketing materials. Their pieces are designed to be timeless in their construction so they can be worn season after season.

Fauxgerty ended up taking home the grand prize with a $10,000 prize to help spread their consumer awareness further!

Qristyl Frasier Designs

It was sure a pleasure getting to meet Qristyl and see her designs IRL. Qristyl Frazier dazzles the “plus” community with her exhilarating designs that are created specifically to make the curvy woman of today feel confident, sophisticated and “Plus Sexy”. Getting to see someone take their passion and turn it into something meaningful is so inspiring!

Congratulations to Qristyl on taking home the runner up prize of $5,000 to help her Plus Sexy campaigns!

It was also awesome getting to meet bloggers I had met online but hadn’t met before. What a great blogging community STL has! I also got to chat with Bloom again–she has such amazing talent! Be sure to check her out here!

Special thanks to my boy, Kenji, for attending and helping me with some photos!
